Arbitration
The flooding of cases in Polish common courts means that arbitration remains an attractive and increasingly popular alternative.
We advise on all matters relating to arbitration, including choosing the right arbitral institution, as well as drafting and analysing arbitration clauses. We represent businesses before arbitration tribunals and common courts in arbitration-related matters.
We have significant experience in conducting proceedings before the two main Polish arbitral institutions: the Court of Arbitration at the Polish Chamber of Commerce and the Lewiatan Court of Arbitration. Our lawyers have also worked on cases before leading international arbitral institutions (including the ICC, the LCIA and the SCC).
The following are some examples of our lawyers’ arbitration expertise:
- representing a foreign shipping company in a complex international contract dispute with an English counterparty over the provision of maritime freight;
- representing a large construction company in complex arbitration involving a number of technical issues;
- representing a foreign financial institution in enforcing through arbitration a financial guarantee against a Polish individual;
- acting as an arbitrator in disputes in the construction, transport and consumer industries.
